چکیده

Photocatalytic H 2 production from water splitting is an effective method to solve energy crisis and environmental pollution simultaneously. Herein, carbon@CdS composite hollow spheres (C@CdS-HS) are fabricated via a facile hydrothermal using porous carbon (C-HS) as the template. The C@CdS-HS shows excellent photocatalytic -generation rate of 20.9 mmol h ?1 g (apparent quantum efficiency 15.3% at 420 nm), with 1.0 wt% Pt cocatalyst under simulated sunlight irradiation; this 69.7, 13.9, 3.9 times higher than that obtained pure CdS (CdS-HS), C@CdS-HS, CdS-HS/Pt, respectively. enhanced -evolution activity C@CdS-HS/Pt due synergistic effect C bi-cocatalyst. C-HS serves not only active site provider but also electron transporter reservoir. Moreover, has strong photothermal induced by near infrared light, which kinetically accelerates -production reaction. Additionally, underlying charge transfer pathway process C?HS revealed. This work highlights potential application C-HS-based nanocomposites in solar-to-chemical conversion. Carbon@CdS template, they show H2-production bi-cocatalysts.

Preparation and enhanced visible-light photocatalytic H2-production activity of CdS-sensitized Pt/TiO2 nanosheets with exposed (001) facets.

CdS-sensitized Pt/TiO(2) nanosheets with exposed (001) facets were prepared by hydrothermal treatment of a Ti(OC(4)H(9))(4)-HF-H(2)O mixed solution followed by photochemical reduction deposition of Pt nanoparticles (NPs) on TiO(2) nanosheets (TiO(2) NSs) and chemical bath deposition of CdS NPs on Pt/TiO(2) NSs, successively. The UV and visible-light driven photocatalytic activity of the as-prep...

Design and Synthesis of TiO2 Hollow Spheres with Spatially Separated Dual Cocatalysts for Efficient Photocatalytic Hydrogen Production

TiO₂ hollow spheres modified with spatially separated Ag species and RuO₂ cocatalysts have been prepared via an alkoxide hydrolysis-precipitation method and a facile impregnation method. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy studies indicate that Ag species and RuO₂ co-located on the inner and outer surface of TiO₂ hollow spheres, respectively. The resultant catalysts show significan...

Synthesis of hierarchical Ag2ZnGeO4 hollow spheres for enhanced photocatalytic property.

An Ag(2)ZnGeO(4) photocatalyst was fabricated by ion-exchange reaction between amorphous Zn(2)GeO(4) suspension and Ag(+) solutions. The Ostwald ripening effect induced the formation of hierarchical hollow spheres. Compared with the reference bulk Ag(2)ZnGeO(4), the hierarchical Ag(2)ZnGeO(4) hollow spheres showed enhanced photocatalytic activity.

Bubble template synthesis of Sn2Nb2O7 hollow spheres for enhanced visible-light-driven photocatalytic hydrogen production.

Hierarchical Sn2Nb2O7 hollow spheres were prepared for the first time via a facile hydrothermal route using bubbles generated in situ from the decomposition of urea as soft templates. The as-obtained hollow spheres with a large specific surface area of 58.3 m(2) g(-1) show improved visible-light-driven photocatalytic H2 production activity in lactic acid aqueous solutions, about 4 times higher ...
